GUN ARMS are produced through bending processes (cold forming), as well as casting, afterwards machined on state of the art CNC machines, leak tested and if needed also assembled.

Also machining off forged / extruded material in turning/milling operations is possible.

We also produce Aluminium Gun Arms.

Main application of our alloys is resistance welding.

Mostly used for resistance welding are the following materials are CuCrZr (2.1293) and CuCoBe (2.1285).As we can balance the combination between electrical conductivity and mechanical properties FORGU is able to find the optimal solution for every problem, regardless of the form giving process for the part.

Whether the most intricate casting with cast in stainless steel water tubes or more simple geometries from cold forming.

SHANKS and ELECTRODE HOLDERS are mostly produced by cold forming.

Due to the unique combination of production processes at FORGU we are able to produce even the most complex geometry of shanks.

As a casting we can do almost any 3 dimensional shape without the problems of residual stress of cold forming. Even thr combination between casting and cold forming is possible.

Due to the oustanding mechanical properties of our copper alloys, in combination with sea water corrosion resistance, FORGU castings are also used for high performance on/off shore technology.

For butt welding applications the best possible combination of electrical / thermal conductivity and mechanical properties is of highest importance.

Only due to the unique combination of production processes we can offer you the most cost efficient solution, including composite material mixes within one functional unit.

Water cooling is a crucial part for butt welding components. Non magnetic, stainless steel tubes casted into the copper matrix allow a very even temperature gradient through all geometries. At the same time the risk of leakage is minimized, as these tubes are a closed system by itself.

Safety Tools are used in highly explosive enviroment.

With outstanding hardnesss values and tensile strength our safety tools have outstanding wear resistance, even for heavy industry applications. Not only for hand tools, but also machine parts in mills and grinding devices.

CuBe2 is the alloy giving hardness values of more than 400 HV if needed and tensile strenghth of 1.200 N/mm2. These cannot be met with any other copper based alloy.

Current-carrying devices with higher demands on mechanical properties of abrasive wear can be made of Chromium Copper CuCrZr (2.1293). For even higher demands also solutions made in CuCoBe (2.1285) might be feasible.

Standard components out of pure copper are machined according customer specification, as well as brass parts. Any more complex geometry can be casted as well, partially in composite casting with cast in cooling / heating tubes.

Our main advantage here is single part, prototype and small series production with short leadtimes.

Dies on copper base materials are used where quick solidification is needed.

We produce casted dies for brass foundries of complex geometry made of CuBe2, as well as dies for lab use in iron and steel foundries, partially with integrated water cooling, made in other copper materials.

Another application are heated extrusion dies. As we can cast in heating coils directly into the copper matrix a very even temperatur gradient through the section of the copper part can be guaranteed.

Also the reverse application, cast in cooling tubes for tuyeres, is possible. This way we can ensure the highest cooling effect at the most crucial point; as the form of the cast in tube can be determined with almost no limitations.
